Vic Verrier MBE, President of South West in Bloom

Dear Bloomers,

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts to let you know that our beloved dear friend and South West in Bloom President and Bloom Champion, Vic Verrier MBE, passed away on Sunday 27th April.

Vic, a retired Head of Public Parks, has been a member of the South West in Bloom Committee since the 1980’s, and served as our resolute and passionate Chairman for 10 of those years.

In 2003, Vic received the MBE for services to Horticulture and the Community of Somerset. He too received in 2001, the RHS Long Service Award for 40 years in Horticulture and in 2009, the RHS Britian in Bloom Outstanding Contribution Award.

Our heartfelt sympathy and deepest condolences we send to Vic’s wife Josie, family, and friends.

A celebration of Vic's life will be held on Thursday May 29th at 10.40am at Taunton Crematorium . There is no dress code, come as you like. Afterwards the family would like to invite anyone who wishes to, to join them back at the Vivary Golf Club.

Vic will no doubt be ‘Blooming Bright’ in the Garden of Stars above and will be very much missed and fondly remembered by all at South West in Bloom.
