If you are thinking about getting started If you’ve come to this page you already have the motivation and enthusiasm to improve your environment, breathe life into your area and get your community active and involved. It’s easy to get started in Britain in Bloom. First, identify where you think you fit into the campaign and then scroll down to find your first steps Bloom categoriesAre you a group or individual wanting to improve your town, village, city, or urban community? Are you representing the local authority in the area or part of a small group of concerned residents? Are you determined to harness community support and brighten your hometown? Depending on your population size you will no doubt fit into one of your region’s or nation’s Bloom categories. As you can see at the side of the webpage, the categories are listed so you should have an idea of where you will fit. Be inspired to get started by looking at some real life stories of Bloom groups who were once just starting from scratch and who grew to transform their areas and become true Blooming success stories! Neighbourhood AwardsAre you a small group of residents, a few local neighbours or an individual wanting to improve your local streets, or focus on a particular project such as a park or an open space? If so, you will fit into our Neighbourhood Awards category. This category is for resident-led groups cleaning and greening up their patch, read more about neighbourhood awards. You can always read some inspirational stories from Neighbourhood Awards participants. First stepsThe first step is to download a starter pack. These will give you vital information for getting started. These following links will take you to the relevant information on the RHS Britain in Bloom website.
Second stepsAs a completely new entrant, your next step will be to get in touch with your regional co-ordinator and make an application for your local campaign. Both the emails (Mr T. A. Porter or Mr. R Bolt) in the left hand column are available to use.
